DPNR Hosts 5th Annual
Brownfields Forum
July 30, 2008 Westin Resort, St. John
Paving The Way For Redevelopment
The Department of
Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) announces that the Division of
Environmental Protection (DEP), Brownfields’ Program will host its 5th
Annual Forum on July 30, 2008 at the Westin Resort on St. John.
This year’s
forum: Paving the Way to Redevelopment will feature
representatives from the United States Environmental Protection
Agency, the 27th Legislature, DPNR staff and local
contractors. Discussions will focus on Federal Guidelines, the VI
Brownfields Act, Public/Private Partnerships and DPNR Brownfields
initiatives.
Commissioner
Mathes said, “The Virgin Islands Brownfields Program is making
steady progress in putting an effective Brownfields Program in place
in the Virgin Islands.”
He said,
“Stakeholders from all levels of government, the business and
financial community, realtors, developers, planners, consultants,
and community leaders should attend.”
The forum will be
held on Wednesday, July 30th at the Westin Resort on St.
John from 9am to 2pm. Pre-registration is required and Admission is
FREE. Since space is limited, interested persons should
